Transylvania University hosts 16th Annual PumpkinMania

LEXINGTON, Ky. (CBS, KYMA) - The 16th edition of Transylvania University's PumpkinMania event took place on October 25, with the steps of the historic Old Morrison building overtaken by hundreds of carved jack-o'-lanterns.

Local man Scott Moore captured footage from the campus, which is located in Lexington, Kentucky, showing crowds gathered to see the striking display.

The university, founded in the 18th century, invites "families, alumni, students and community members" each year to carve the pumpkins, while the event also features musical performances and family-friendly activities.

Moore told Storyful, "It has grown into a staple for central Kentucky every Halloween. Locals carve pumpkins, and then their artwork is put on display at Old Morrison Hall that night at Transy."
