Susan Saint James, Emmy-winning actress, dies at 80

(CNN, KYMA) - Actress Susan Saint James has died at the age of the 80.

Saint James' representative confirmed to People Magazine that she had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and passed away Monday.

Saint James was best known for her roles on the TV series "Kate and Allie" and "McMillan and Wife."

She earned Emmy nominations in those roles to go along with an Emmy win early in her career.

Saint James' family remembered her in a statement, saying she was "instinctively drawn to whoever needed lifting up."

They noted she raised her children to "pause, be kind and look out for other people.”

Saint James is survived by her husband, former NBC Sports executive Dick Ebersol, and four children, as well as seven grandchildren.
