Rep. Andy Biggs runs for governor

YUMA COUNTY, Ariz. (KYMA) - U.S. Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) said he is running for governor because he believes Arizona is on the wrong path.

"I'm an Arizona native, I love this state, I think we can go in a better directions, we're losing jobs oddly enough we have fewer people in the workforce than ever, we're 51st in education good grief thats terrible, I mean these types of things are just not working out well," Rep. Biggs expressed.

Biggs said some of the top issues he's focusing on is creating affordable housing, securing our borders, and fixing the water problem in Arizona.

He says if elected he will introduce water management bills, give certificates to housing developers to get houses on the market, and even get a pipeline from Texas to help reduce the cost of gas.

"She vetoed 541 bills, we're going to start signing those 11 bills that will protect children from sex predators and pedophiles and pornographers, we're going to sign those bills. Those are good bills," Biggs added.

Biggs shared how he plans to put more money in the pockets of Arizonans if elected, "we're going to work to systematically reduce the income tax down to zero to compete with other states that are not charging income tax but that will put more money in peoples pockets that will cause the economy to grow as well so theres a lot of things that we can do and we're going to get after these things very quickly after we're elected."

The congressman said it's important for people to get out and vote as the election is quickly approaching.

"That message that I have given to you will resonate and get people to the polls," Biggs explained.

Biggs is running against Gov. Katie Hobbs (D-Ariz.) in the November 3 election, which is less than ten days away.
