Fatal fire at assisted living center in Mississippi

CLINTON, Miss. (NBC, KYMA) - Two people have died following a fire at a Mississippi assisted living center.

An 81-year-old woman and an 82-year-old man died as a result of the fire. It happened at Brookdale Senior Living Wednesday evening in Clinton.

Officials confirmed the deaths Thursday morning. Four other people were hospitalized. Their injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.

The cause of the fire remains unknown and is being investigated, led by the state fire marshal.
