Crews recover plane that crashed in Boulder earlier this month

BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. (NBC, KYMA) - Crews recovered pieces of a plane that crashed in Boulder County earlier this month.

A private contractor working with the National Transportation Safety Board removed the plane from the site of the fatal crash Thursday morning.

Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks, and the Boulder County Sheriff's Office's emergency services unit helped with the plane removal.

A temporary flight restriction was also put in place during the operation, according to the sheriff's office.

Two people were killed in the October 4 crash, a 43-year-old man and a three-year-old girl.

The sheriff's office, NTSB and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the cause.
