Warriors end promising season on sour note

KYMA

WINTERHAVEN, Calif. (KYMA) - The Desert Star Titans defeated the San Pasqual Warriors 44-8, closing out the Warriors’ season with a loss.

San Pasqual struggled to find its footing early, as Alex Acuna provided a highlight on defense with an interception in the first quarter. Acuna weaved through several Desert Star defenders and broke multiple tackles before eventually being brought down.

The Warriors’ offense stalled on the ensuing drive, giving the Titans another opportunity to build their lead. Gavin Canning took advantage, cutting to the left and finding a lane into the end zone to extend Desert Star’s advantage to 22 points.

San Pasqual continued to battle offensive struggles, and things took another turn when Ian Osorio broke through for a blocked punt. Osorio recovered the ball himself and returned it for a touchdown, adding to the Titans’ lead.

Azrian Angulo provided a positive moment for the Warriors on offense, picking up yards after contact and keeping his feet moving for extra yardage.

Despite the loss, San Pasqual finished the season 5-5, marking the program’s first five-win season since 1998.
