Jon Stewart to host ‘The Daily Show’ through 2028

(CBS, KYMA) - Skydance Television announced Monday that Jon Stewart will continue to host Comedy Central's "The Daily Show" every Monday until December 2028.

Stewart, who previously hosted the late-night talk and news satire show from 1999 to 2015, came back to host in 2024 following Trevor Noah's departure back in 2022, with the show having guest hosts throughout 2023.

In addition, Skydance Television said Stewart will also serve as the show's executive producer during that time.

"Jon Stewart is a generational talent and The Daily Show continues to be one of the most influential franchises on television and a cornerstone of Comedy Central. We are excited to continue our partnership with Jon and his award winning news team," said George Cheeks, Co-Chair and Chief Content Officer for Skydance Television.

Stewart will also share hosting duties Tuesday through Thursday with the show's News Team, including Ronny Chieng, Josh Johnson, Jordan Klepper, Michael Kosta, and Desi Lydic with Troy Iwata and Grace Kuhlenschmidt.

"The Daily Show" won two Emmys this year.
