Missing California woman found alive after surviving fall

SISKIYOU COUNTY, Calif. (CNN, KYMA) - A 72-year-old woman is alive and safe after surviving a few days alone in the wilderness with serious injuries.

The Siskiyou County Sheriff's Office said Mary Beth Granbery had to be airlifted from a Northern California hiking area.

It said rescuers found her at the bottom on a steep embankment after what appears to have been a significant fall.

Officials said family members had reported her missing Friday when she didn't return from a camping trip.
