Memorial wall to be built in honor of victims who went missing at multiple bars in Mexicali

KYMA

MEXICALI, Mexico (KYMA) - A memorial wall will be built in honor of the victims who went missing at multiple bars in Mexicali.

The memorial will cost $110,000 and will be funded by the state government.

In addition, the Searching Mothers have requested the memorial so that the victims are never forgotten and always be honored.

Construction is expected to begin by the end of the year, and working sessions are currently being held with victims' families to gather their input on the project.

"We want this place to be a memorial to the [missing people] and, above all, a reminder that this must never happen again," said Soraya Anna Villarreal with Founder Research Group. "We want it to show what happened in 2022, when there was a surge of missing people, and that people disappeared from that club."

At least ten people disappeared from the bars three years ago.
