CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Bears cool off in residential pond in Southern California

SIERRA MADRE, Calif. (NBC, KYMA) - A Sierra Madre, California resident said bears are using a pond on her property to beat the heat.

Security cameras captured video of the mother bear and her two cubs visiting the freshwater pond, but this isn't the first time that's happened.

The bears apparently visit the pond just about every day as temperatures in the area remain high.

The property owner actually said the pond, which is in her front yard by her driveway, is fed year round by runoff from Mount Wilson.

The bears don't seem to be aggressive. They just come by to cool off and then make their way back to the woods above the home.
