The United States Supreme Court allows Trump administration to resume rapid deportations

(NBC, KYMA) - The Supreme Court Tuesday allowed the Trump administration to resume its rapid deportations of immigrants to countries other than their own.

It was a one page emergency ruling that was not signed by any of the individual justices and this case is not over.

Justices fast tracked the oral arguments to December which will set up a final decision by the high court in 2027.

Since the start of the second Trump administration in January of 2025, thousands of immigrants have been sent to countries where they have no previous ties.

The migration policy institute estimates there were about 15,000 people deported in that manner in 2025 alone.

Mexico received a majority of those deportees.
