DoorDash reaches over $131 million settlement with NYC workers

(CNN, KYMA) - DoorDash is going to be delivering money to its drivers.

The company announced it reached a settlement of $131.5 million with New York City (NYC) regulators.

Officials said they "screwed up" when it came to complying with pay rules for its workers, adding that the errors were due to "technical bugs" and "complicated situations."

Even though less than 1% of all payments to NYC dashers were affected, DoorDash says roughly 264,000 drivers will receive money from this settlement.

Those eligible will be able to select a payment method, and those who don't choose one will receive a check in the mail.

The average payment is expected to be slightly less than $50.
