Seven injured after a shooting in Baltimore

BALTIMORE (CBS, KYMA) - A search for a shooter is underway in Baltimore, after a toddler and several other people were injured by gunfire overnight.

Baltimore police say an officer was patrolling an east Baltimore neighborhood when he heard gunshots around 9 p.m. Eastern.

The officer turned the corner to find seven people, including a four year old girl, suffering from gunshot wounds.

Authorities say all of the victims were taken to the hospital and are expected to survive.

"Every single soul in Baltimore should be asking if they know anything about the cowards who shot these 7 people, most notably a three-year-old little boy, there is no way for you to reclaim humanity after doing that," said Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott.

No suspects have been arrested so far.

Police said all of the shots were likely fired from one direction, and said investigators are searching for a motive.
