Military aircraft crashes near roadway in Michigan

GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich. (NBC, KYMA) - A military aircraft has reportedly crashed in northern Michigan.

According to Michigan State Police, the military aircraft is believed to be an F-16.

The crash happened Thursday near a roadway with several residences. A driver in the area captured heavy smoke and fire from the crash on video.

The pilot ejected from the aircraft and was taken to an area hospital.

No other injuries have been reported. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
