YCNHA receives $50k grant to expand marketing efforts

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - The Yuma Crossing National Heritage Area (YCNHA) is receiving a $50,000 grant from the National Park Foundation to help promote Yuma's history, attractions and community events.

The grant can be used over the next year and will help expand Yuma Crossing's marketing and communications efforts.

In addition, the funding will support efforts to promote local historic sites, community events and the area’s cultural and natural resources.

YCNHA Grants and Fund Development Manager Anna Reagle says the goal is to create a more unified way of telling Yuma's story and reaching more people.

"The Yuma Crossing National Heritage Area really encompasses a lot," Reagle said. "We have a lot of history, not just with the riverfront, but our historic places. So having a cohesive approach to how we tell our story and how we engage more people is really what we want to focus on."

The grant is part of a $5 million National Park Foundation investment supporting 77 park partners across the country.

Yuma Crossing said the funding will help attract new audiences while encouraging locals to explore the history, culture and natural resources in their own backyard.
