Firefighters revive cat with oxygen mask following garage fire in Arizona

PHOENIX (CBS, KYMA) - Phoenix firefighters rescued and revived a cat using a specialized oxygen mask after a garage fire broke out early Monday morning, displacing a family of four.

News outlets said crews arrived at the scene near 35th and Peoria Avenues at approximately 2:45 a.m. to find heavy flames and smoke pouring from the garage.

The Phoenix Fire Department posted video showing firefighters quickly knocking down the blaze, entering the home, and finding the cat.

After receiving emergency oxygen on scene, the cat was safely reunited with its owner.

No human injuries were reported, though the fire left four residents displaced. The family is receiving aid through the city's Community Assistance Program.
