Amazon plane crashes at Miami airport

MIAMI (NBC, KYMA) - An Amazon cargo plane has crashed after landing at Miami International Airport Sunday.

An airport spokesperson said the jet overran the runway around 2 p.m. Eastern, and is disabled at the northwest end of the airport.

Video showed smoke billowing from the crash site.

Photos showed the jet on a road outside the airport, surrounded by emergency vehicles but the plane appears to be intact.

Some 60 Miami-Dade Fire rescue units responded to the scene and reported there were multiple patients involved in the crashed.

All runways and taxiways at the airport have been closed.

The FAA says the plane was arriving from San Juan, Puerto Rico and is investigating.
