Deadly stabbing attack in Times Square

NEW YORK CITY (NBC, KYMA) - Police are investigating a deadly stabbing in Times Square after officers say a knife-wielding woman attacked two people Monday afternoon.

Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch says officers responded to West 43rd and Seventh Avenue just after 4:20 p.m. Eastern following reports of a woman armed with two knives stabbing people along Seventh Avenue.

Police identified the suspect as 49-year-old Pamela Cisneros of Queens. Officers shot and killed Cisneros.

One of the stabbing victims, a woman, later died at the hospital. A male victim remains hospitalized.

The investigation is currently ongoing.
