Recap of CD7 debate between Rep. Adelita Grijalva and Daniel Butierez Sr.

PHOENIX (KYMA) - Two candidates are squaring off to represent parts of Yuma County in our nation's capital.

Rep. Adelita Grijalva (D-Ariz.) and Daniel Butierez Sr. (R-Ariz.) debated Wednesday night as they're both running for U.S. Representative for Arizona's seventh congressional district (CD7).

They debated on a variety of topics, including access to healthcare, the economy and immigration.

"We have three Commercial Ports of Entry in CD7 and those have not been fully funded. Customs and Border [Protection] has literally asked me when I've gone to tour each of those sites to leave our CBP officers there. They keep getting pulled into ICE raids," Rep. Grijalva expressed.

"They're coming after people that have been here for a long time. The Dignity Act stops that, so I don't know why she's not one of the members that are trying to get this into action. Except as I said before, they don't really want to fix this. They want to continue to run on it," Butierez responded.

Both candidates ran to fill the seat left vacant by the late Rep. Raul Grijalva (D-Ariz.) last year, with his daughter winning the seat.

The midterm elections are Tuesday, November 3.
