CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Fleeing suspect crashes into school bus carrying children

SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. (NBC, KYMA) - A chase ended with a crash into a school bus carrying 19 children and a suspect in custody.

Video released by the Sumter County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) shows the a vehicle slams head-on into the bus.

Deputies say the 23-year-old driver was speeding through a school zone when they tried to stop him.

They said he took off, sideswiped two cars, then crashed into the bus.

A body camera shows a deputy quickly taking him into custody after he ran to a nearby Walmart.

SCSO said none of the children on board were hurt.

The driver is being held without bond and faces several charges, including fleeing from law enforcement and fleeing the scene of a crash.
