California attorney general calls off meeting with Paramount

(CNN, KYMA) - California Attorney General Rob Bonta canceled a meeting scheduled for Monday over Paramount's planned $110 billion takeover of Warner Bros. Discovery.

The parties were due to discuss a potential settlement of the lawsuit that has frozen the media mega-merger in place.

The New York Times reported Attorney General Bonta accused Paramount of leaking information from their Friday meeting.

A Paramount spokesperson said the company is not the source of the leaks, and said they hope the talks can get back on track

Bonta is among the 12 Democratic state attorneys general suing to block the merger. They argue it would violate anti-trust law and harm competition in Hollywood.

Paramount said the deal is pro-competitive. It accuses critics of acting based on politics.
