Shooting under investigation at strip mall in Indiana

LAKE COUNTY, Ind. (NBC, KYMA) - Multiple police departments responded to a reported shooting that took place at a strip mall in north west Indiana late Saturday night.

According to a statement from Indiana State Police, troopers responded to the scene east of interstate 65 along State Route 2.

Lake County Sheriff's deputies are also at the strip mall and are leading the investigation.

Officials did not say how many individuals may have been hit by gunfire or what lead up to the shooting.

State police did say the scene is secure and there is no threat to the public at this time.

This is an ongoing investigation.
