Hawaii prepares for Tropical Storm Moke

HILO, HI. (NBC, KYMA) - Preparations are underway in Hawaii ahead of Tropical Storm Moke.

The system is on track to bring another round of heavy rain and wind to the Big Island as residents are still recovering from hurricane Lala.

Grocery stores have seen increased activity with people stocking up on canned goods, batteries and water.

At one KTA store director says they have run out of ice.

Many residents are also trying to fix damaged water catchment systems which people use for drinking, running water and flushing their toilets.

Pacific Blue catchment says water catchment businesses are dealing with a couple hundred systems that suffered damage from fallen trees during hurricane Lala almost a week ago.

And continued power outages have left thousands with no way to pump water.

Lawmakers and residents say generators have been among the hardest items to locate.
