Rural Metro responds to fire at RV park in Yuma

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - Rural Metro responded to a fire at an RV park in Yuma Friday afternoon.

The fire began at Hidden Cove RV Park, located in the area of W. Water Street and N. 22nd Avenue, just before 2 p.m.

There were numerous trailers and vehicles affected by the fire, Rural Metro shared with News 11, who was at the scene.

News 11 also spoke with neighbors, who live next to the structures that caught on fire, who shared what they witnessed.

"I was doing the dishes when my mom yelled that there's a fire. And we came out and smoke was flaring up in that tree over there. And we come running outside and all you hear is stuff popping out of windows, glass popping out," said Leslie Rasmussen, a Hidden Cove resident.

The fire has been extinguished, and while there were no injuries reported, neighbors said the fire spread quickly, and their first priority was making sure other residents and their pets were safe.

"We're all close. We're like family. We don't even say we're friends. So we wanted to make sure everybody was out and their animals. And so we took off running to go down and help," said Tazz Rasmussen, another Hidden Cove resident.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
