Imperial County declares local emergency due to storm damage

IMPERIAL COUNTY, Calif. (KYMA) - A local emergency was called throughout Imperial County due to storm damage.

A severe storm that happened earlier this month caused significant damage to transmission lines and poles, causing widespread power outages across the county.

Flooding also damaged roads and homes.

The County said the proclamation allows them to activate emergency organization, coordinate resources, and pursue available state and federal assistance to support recovery.
