Open AI is launching a new version of Chat GPT for teens

(NBC, KYMA) - Open AI is launching a new version of Chat GPT for teens.

The company says the program is for users under the age of 18, and is designed to include stronger built in safety protections.

The dedicated chatbot experience will provide help on school work by teaching and explaining rather than just spitting out answers or essays.

It includes features to promote healthy use and additional controls for parents.

Open AI says the goal is to guide teens to use the technology in a more age appropriate way.

While parents and teachers have expressed concerns over the AI capabilities with school cheating and worsening mental health.
