Missing jet skier rescued by Coast Guard in Long Beach

ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. (NBC, KYMA) - A jet skier who was missing for hours was rescued Monday off the Southern California coast.

The Coast Guard says two jet skiers set out Sunday. They were reported missing when they hadn't been seen for hours.

One was found on some rocks by 10 p.m.

The other missing jet skier was picked up 12 hours later and eight to ten miles out to sea. The man in his 50s had fallen off and drifted away from his water craft.

He was airlifted to the Long Beach Airport where paramedics listed him as stable. Officials say the man was being treated for preliminary hypothermia.
