Rising floodwaters threaten communities along the White River in Indiana

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (NBC, KYMA) - Floodwaters continue to threaten communities along the White River in central Indiana Sunday.

In Hamilton County, leaders say the river crested at a record 24.6 feet, nearly a foot over the 1913 record of 23.8 feet.

While the water level is still going down, the White River is currently at 21 feet.

Officials say property damage assessments are being done in the area.

One of the biggest concerns is the Hazel Dell Road collapse where the road is washed out.

Hundreds of people in the area were evacuated and the county remains under a flood watch.
