Slow-moving thunderstorms drench east-central Indiana

RANDOLPH CITY, Ind. (CBS, KYMA) - Slow-moving thunderstorms triggered flash flooding in eastern Indiana on Wednesday, August 12, with more rain on the way, officials warned.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), between three and six-inches of rain had fallen in east-central Indiana as of 9:45 a.m. Eastern Wednesday, with additional amounts up to 1.5 inches possible.

Kelli Chalfant said she filmed the footage in Randolph County, east of Indianapolis, Wednesday morning.

"And just like that it rained and never stopped," Chalfant wrote on X.

A flash flood warning would remain in effect for Randolph County until 1 p.m. Eastern, according to the NWS.
