Rod Stewart cancels shows after heart surgery

(NBC, KYMA) - Iconic musician Rod Stewart is canceling his current tour as he recovers from heart surgery.

A representative for Stewart said he underwent a successful, routine coronary stent procedure recently.

Doctors say everything went well and the singer will take four weeks to fully recover.

Stewart was set to be on the road through September 3, including a Las Vegas residency.

He said he is already feeling better and plans to return to performing soon.
