Multiple dead after shooting in rural North Carolina

CABARRUS COUNTY, N.C. (NBC, KYMA) - Multiple people are dead after a shooting in rural North Carolina.

Caswell County Sheriff's Deputies arrived at the scene Wednesday morning. Upon arrival they found four people suffering from gunshot wounds.

Three of them died from their injuries, one person was taken to Duke University Hospital with a gunshot wound. At this time, we do not know their condition.

The State Bureau of Investigation is on scene to assist the Caswell County Sheriff.

Investigators are looking into the possibility that previous calls for assistance had been made from residence.

Investigators say everyone involved in the shooting was related, and there is no threat to the general public.
