Mike Lindell steps down as CEO of MyPillow

(NBC, KYMA) - Mike Lindell announced he is stepping down as CEO of MyPillow, the company he founded, to focus on his campaign to be the next governor of Minnesota.

In a statement posted on social media, Lindell said: "Today, I've made one of the biggest decisions of my life. I'm stepping down as CEO of MyPillow so I can devote 100% of my time and energy to my campaign for governor of Minnesota. Minnesota deserves my full attention, and that's exactly what I'm giving it."

Polls suggest Lindell is the leading Republican candidate for governor and he has been endorsed by President Donald Trump.

Lindell was recently accused of violating election laws by giving away pillows during a July 4 parade to promote his campaign.

The Minnesota primary is August 11 and early voting has already started.
