CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Small plane makes emergency landing on Florida Highway

(NBC, KYMA) - A small plane was forced to make an emergency landing on a busy Florida interstate Monday barely avoiding traffic.

The single engine plane was supposed to land at Pensacola International Airport when the pilot said the aircraft was losing oil pressure.

A truck driver shot video which shows the plane coming within just a few feet of a highway sign and landing on the pavement.

The plane had taken off from the Pensacola airport and was in the air about 30 minutes before it had to make the emergency landing.

Only the pilot and a flight student were on board. No one in the aircraft or on the roadway was hurt.

The FAA has launched an investigation.
