World Dog Surfing Championship held in California

PACIFICA, Calif. (NBC, KYMA) - Hundreds of people lined Linda Mar Beach in Pacifica, California Saturday for the 10th annual World Dog Surfing Championships.

All there to get a glimpse of the four-legged surfers in action.

A sea of hounds of all sizes who can hang ten with the best of them, and of course there were some wipeouts.

The canine surfers are judged on length of ride, size of the wave, confidence, balance and extra tricks.

"You know what, we just want to go out and have a good time, this is Rocket's first time up here in Pacifica, so it's going to be something new for us, but yeah you know, we love to go out, we love to have fun," one surf dog owner said.
