Canyon Road Fire is about 50% contained

LOGAN, UT. (NBC, KYMA) - The canyon road fire in Logan, Utah is now about 50 percent contained, after forcing evacuations and road closures on Friday.

The fire broke out near Utah State University damaging multiple structures and vehicles.

At least 100 people had to be evacuated.

Aerials captured Saturday show charred ground and burned out vehicles.

A home received minor damage, eight vehicles were destroyed and a small outbuilding was destroyed.

According to Utah Fire, the blaze has scorched about 30 acres, and burning near the mouth of Logan Canyon.

So far, no injuries are being reporting, an investigation is underway.
