President Trump says ‘Board of Peace’ reached Gaza disarmament deal

(NBC, KYMA) - President Donald Trump took to social media Thursday to announce his "Board of Peace" reached an agreement for the "complete disarmament" of Hamas in Gaza.

President Trump called the agreement "historic" saying it would disarm Hamas and "all other armed groups in Gaza."

The agreement would "be carried out in carefully structured phases" that he called the "Trump 20-Point Plan."

Trump said Israeli forces will withdraw from Gaza following the disarmament, and an international stabilization force would work with a new Palestinian police force to "Take responsibility for Gaza being safe."

Neither Israel not Hamas has publicly stated their acceptance of this deal, but a U.S. official has insisted the terms of this are consistent with what both sides agreed to in the past.
