CAUGHT ON CAMERA: San Diego man falls from cliff

SAN DIEGO (CBS, KYMA) - Horrifying footage shows the moment a man fell from a cliff in San Diego Tuesday, bashing into rocks on the way down.

Footage captured by Adam Qoul shows a man hanging onto a cliff in the Sunset Cliffs neighborhood before he loses his grip, thuds onto rocks below, and plummets into the water.

According to reports, the man was climbing up the cliff face before he fell.

Qoul told Storyful police, lifeguards, and ambulances responded in minutes to the scene, and the man was airlifted away for medical attention.

The extent of the man's injuries was not immediately clear, news outlets reported.

Storyful reached out to San Diego Fire-Rescue for information on the man’s condition, but did not hear back by the time of publication.

Two days earlier, a 17-year-old was seriously injured while attempting a jump at the same location, reports said.

Cliff jumping is illegal in San Diego, according to reports, citing the San Diego Municipal Code.
