Cracker Barrel CEO to step down in August

(NBC, KYMA) - Cracker Barrel is undergoing a leadership change as the company announced CEO Julie Masino is stepping down in August.

Masino's departure followed a controversial attempt to re-brand the restaurant chain last summer.

Cracker Barrel ultimately reversed course, scrapping the re-brand and keeping its logo after many protested the change and sales for the restaurant plummeted.

David Deno will take over as CEO on August 10.

Deno served as the CEO of Blooming Brands, owner of Outback Steakhouse and other restaurant chains from 2019 to 2024, and an executive role at Yum Brands, the parent company of KFC and Taco Bell.

Masino will keep an advisory role until October to assist with the transition.
