Wife of NFL coach shot at her home in Virgina

(NBC, KYMA) - Mia Bieniemy, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, was shot inside her home in Loudoun County, Virginia on Sunday, and their son is now facing charges.

She was rushed to the hospital but is in stable condition.

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office arrested 27-year-old Elijah Zion Bieniemy in connection to the shooting.

He is being held without bond, and has been charged with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and discharge of a firearm inside of a dwelling.

Eric Bieniemy is currently the offensive coordinator with the Chiefs, but spent the 2023 season with the Washington commanders.

It's unclear what led up to the shooting, no more details on the case are available at this time.
