Three dead, four injured following shooting at Seattle Center

SEATTLE (NBC, KYMA) - Three people were killed and four others were injured in a shooting in Seattle Sunday, during a major food festival at the Seattle Center Civic complex.

Investigators believe two people were firing at each other.

One suspect is in custody and they're searching for at least one more though they do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the community.

"What I thought were firecrackers and people started yelling shooter and there was like a stampede of people just running, my dad was outside so I ran out to pull him in because they were stepping over people," said one festival vendor Roberto Ramirez.

Investigators have recovered two guns at the scene and are asking for witnesses to come forward.

"I saw at least one individual with a switch, semi- automatic. I saw another one that was two. That's when I heard that there was shots fired. That's when I took off around the corner," said witness Brian Barker.

It all happened at the popular Bite of Seattle, that's billed as drawing 350,000 people over three days, near the iconic space needle.

Seattle Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal said the FBI has been in contact with local authorities and that all levels of government are coordinating to make sure officials there get whatever federal resources they need.
