Rowe Creek Complex Fire passes 200k acres

CENTRAL OREGON (CBS, KYMA) - A series of wildfires known as the Rowe Creek Complex Fire surpassed 200-thousand acres over the weekend in Central Oregon.

A red flag advisory remained in effect for strong winds, extreme temperatures and low humidity levels.

Crews said the worst conditions Saturday were found on the southern edge of the fires, according to Inciweb. But conditions were ripe Sunday for possible extreme fire behavior along U.S. Route 26.

Evacuation orders and warnings remained in effect for areas of Wasco and Wheeler Counties.

A total of 1,292 personnel were assigned, including 78 engines, 22 dozers and one aerial resource, according to Inciweb.
