FIRST ALERT ACTION DAY: Tracking continued extreme heat across the region

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - We are in day four of our Weather Authority First Alert Action Day due to continued extreme heat across our region.

The high temperature in Yuma on Saturday is tracking to reach 117°F. Only one degree short of the record that Yuma experienced in 2018.

While Imperial is tracking a high temperature of 119°F. Two degrees short of the record high that they also saw in 2018.

I'm tracking little relief throughout the weekend. With temps expected to remain in the triple digits starting as early in the morning as 9:30 a.m. and lasting throughout the day until 11 p.m.

Into Sunday, high temps will drop off but still tracking well into the triple-digits. Yuma should expect a high of 111°F. While Imperial is expected to reach 114°F.

The Extreme Heat Warnings across the region are tracking to stick with us throughout the weekend. Into Monday evening as well, wrapping up around 8 p.m.

Along with the extreme heat, we are tracking high dew points adding in that extra bit of moisture and adding to those uncomfortable conditions we are feeling.

Through Saturday, dew points will remain above 60 degrees. Into the evening around 8 p.m., the dew point is tracking to get up to 72 degrees getting us into that tropical moisture.
