Fans get sneak peek at Star Wars Experience

SAN DIEGO (KYMA) - Star Wars fans got an exciting first look at a brand new immersive experience coming to Philadelphia in 2027.

The Franklin Institute unveiled details of "Star Wars: The Experience - A Journey Through the Galaxy" during a packed panel at San Diego Comic-Con.

Guests got a sneak peek at some of the props, costumes, and interactive experiences celebrating 50 years of the Star Wars franchise.

The exhibit will feature 70 screen-used items, including Darth Vader's armor, Darth Maul's lightsaber, Grogu, R2-D2, and more.

Dan Picard, owner and executive creator producer, shared his excitement with the room.

"One of the things I was alluding to which we're really excited about is like allowing guests to actually in the very beginning is to choose a path. Be light side or dark side and see what those outcomes, like unfold from gallery to gallery," Picard said.

"We're really excited to see you guys experience this and see how it changes depending on your choice," he added.

The experience is set to open February 2, 2027, before embarking on a North American Tour.
