Rep. Andy Biggs reacts to his projected win

YUMA COUNTY, Ariz. (KYMA) - Rep. Andy Biggs' (R-Ariz.) campaign honed in on affordability, power and water issues across the state of Arizona.

As an Arizona native, Rep. Biggs says he knows Arizona well, and would be a good fit for governor due to his prior experience as a prosecutor and president of the Arizona State Senate.

He says he tries to find common ground with the opposing party.

News 11 spoke with the congressman, who says he's ready to run against Gov. Katie Hobbs (D-Ariz.), and has already been preparing for the November election.

"I anticipated we were going to win and I also know that the objective is to beat Katie Hobbs and we will beat Katie Hobbs so I’m going to keep working," Biggs shared.

Meanwhile, Gov. Hobbs' campaign focuses on job growth, protecting water rights and fixing Arizona's education system.

During a healthcare roundtable in Phoenix Wednesday, the governor addressed Biggs winning the Republican nomination for governor, saying he's made it more difficult to access affordable healthcare.

"My opponent has done exactly the opposite from fighting to stop Medicaid expansion when he was Senate President to now in Congress working to undo the Affordable Care Act," Hobbs expressed. "That's what at stake in this race, and I am ready to keep fighting for Arizonians and ensuring that they have the healthcare they need."

The midterm elections are Tuesday, November 3.
