Two landscapers in Oklahoma injured after cherry picker slams to the ground

PONCA CITY, Okla. (CBS, KYMA) - Two landscapers in Ponca City, Oklahoma had a lucky escape as the cherry picker they were operating on slammed 45 feet to the ground after a cable snapped, reports said.

Isaac Reyes and his brother, Andrew, were trimming a tree in the backyard of a home when a cable on the cherry picker snapped and sent them hurtling to the ground.

Isaac suffered a broken femur, torn ligaments and severely sprained ankles while Andrew sustained a fractured jaw and a broken nose, according to reports.

Speaking to Storyful, Isaac said the pair were working "like any other day and heard a cable snap. We knew it broke and were bracing for impact. It made us appreciate every single day and we are grateful to be here."

A GoFundMe page set up for the brothers had raised more than $12,000 at the time of writing. If anyone wants to donate to the GoFundMe, click here.
