7-Eleven sues Nike over shoe bearing convenience store’s colors

(NBC, KYMA) - 7-Eleven is taking Nike to court for trademark infringement over sneaker colors.

The convenience store alleges, in a federal lawsuit, Nike's upcoming Air Max 95 shoes deliberately copied its colors.

Nike had planned to release the shoes on July 11, which the chain celebrates as "7-Eleven Day."

The orange, green and red-color design has been trade-marked by 7-Eleven for years.

The shoes are no longer posted on Nike's launch website, as of Tuesday, and the shoemaker has yet to comment.
