George Clooney to receive Golden Lion Award at Venice Film Festival

(CNN, KYMA) - George Clooney is set to receive a big honor at the Venice Film Festival later this year.

The festival will award Clooney the Golden Lion Award, which is a lifetime achievement award.

Clooney, in his career, has been nominated in six different Oscar categories, winning two; Best Supporting Actor for 2005's "Syriana" and Best Picture for 2012's "Argo," which he co-produced.

He's also worked in Hollywood as an actor, director and producer, and Clooney recently earned a Tony nomination for starring in the stage adaptation of "Good Night, and Good Luck," based on the 2005 film he directed.

The Venice Film Festival takes place in September.
