Body of Arizona firefighter returns home

DEER VALLEY, Ariz. (NBC, KYMA) - The body of 27-year-old Nick Hutcherson, a firefighter who lost his life while battling a Colorado wildfire, has returned to his home state of Arizona.

Hutcherson was a part of a specialized crew who respond to quickly growing wildfires in remote regions.

He was one of three firefighters who died last weekend in a fire near the Utah-Colorado border.

His fellow firefighters carried the casket from the plane to a hearse, followed by a procession of first responders who escorted the hearse to the mortuary.

A GoFundMe has been set up to help Hutcherson's family. It has a goal of $80,000, with nearly $65,000 raised so far.
