Heat land Giannis Antetokounmpo in blockbuster trade with Bucks

The two-time MVP is heading to South Beach to pursue an NBA title with Miami

MIAMI (KYMA) - The NBA offseason delivered its biggest move yet Monday night as the Miami Heat acquired two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo from the Milwaukee Bucks in a blockbuster trade that reshapes the Eastern Conference.

According to multiple reports, Miami also received veteran forward Bobby Portis in the deal.

The Bucks acquired Tyler Herro, Kel'el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr. and Kasparas Jakucionis, along with the No. 13 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, unprotected first-round picks in 2031 and 2033, a 2030 pick swap and a 2033 second-round pick.

The trade ends an era in Milwaukee, where Antetokounmpo spent his first 13 NBA seasons. During his time with the Bucks, the 10-time All-Star and two-time NBA MVP led the franchise to the 2021 NBA championship while becoming the organization's all-time leader in points, rebounds, assists and blocked shots.

For Miami, the addition of Antetokounmpo gives the Heat another franchise superstar to pair with Bam Adebayo as the organization pursues its first NBA title since 2013.
