Coast Guard ends search for missing American woman in the Bahamas

(CNN, KYMA) - The Coast Guard says it ended its search in the disappearance of Lynette Hooker Friday.

Hooker is an American boater who went missing in the waters off the Bahamas in early April.

Her husband Brian said she fell overboard and vanished in the rough waters.

He was arrested days later, questioned and then released without charges, and he has repeatedly denied wrongdoing and said he will continue to look for his wife.

The Coast Guard returned to the Bahamas recently to continue to search for Hooker, using divers, remotely operated underwater vehicles, aerial searches, and a cadaver dog in new areas of interest, but they announced Monday that its search has ended.

They say the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information on Hooker's disappearance should reach out to authorities.
